By Sevier County Public Library System November 22, 2017

This year, the Sevier County Public Library System (SCPLS) will be celebrating the Uniting Cultures Festival with a Christmas around the World theme this year on December 14 from 5:30-7:00PM. All three branches of the SCPLS will display Christmas trees featuring traditional ornaments from countries around the world – China, Australia, Russia, Norway, Germany, Ukraine, Spain, Greece, France and Ireland. In addition, the King Family Library will have a number of other Christmas trees decorated for everyone to enjoy including an Appalachian Mountains Christmas Traditions tree.

December 14 will also be the regular monthly Friends of King Family Library’s Lifelong Learning Program. Up to twenty adults will have the option of creating a holiday wreath using the traditional Australian holiday elements of seashells and eucalyptus. Registration is required for this adult program. Please call 453.3532 to sign up or register for the program at the Circulation Desk at the King Family Library.

Other craft stations in the Children’s Center will be open to the public. The jolly elf himself, Santa Claus, will make an appearance and families will have the opportunity to have their photo taken during the program. Richardson Cove Baptist Church’s teen group will also present a live nativity in the lobby of the King Family Library. Traditional cookies and drinks from around the world will be served during the evening.

The SCPLS King Family Library is located at 408 High Street in Sevierville. For more information about the evening’s festivities, call 453.3532.
