Summer break will soon be here and the perfect opportunity to invite your middle-schoolers to dive into a new book series and meet their summer reading goals!

New from Disney Publishing, The Burning Maze is book three in the New York Times best-selling Trials of Apollo series from best-selling author Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson and the Olympians). The series focuses on Apollo, a hapless god turned teenager (complete with pimples),  who somehow still manages to think he's red-hot.

The story is narrated by Apollo himself, in the form of a mortal 16-year-old trying to earn his way back into Zeus’ good graces by restoring five oracles, but without the help of his godly powers. Readers will be entertained by Zeus’ godly assumptions and the reality of his situation.

The Burning Maze brings back some favorite demigods from Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter books, but also introduces new friends including Apollo’s sidekick Meg. She’s a 12-year-old girl who is secretive about her past and becomes Apollo’s secret weapon. Apollo, Meg, and the other heroes will battle villains on their search for the ancient Oracles.

Order The Burning Maze for your middle school student now, and watch them fall in love with reading, and maybe even mythology, this summer!
